Long before the current ramen and tonkatsu craze, there was Little Tokyo, Makati's very own Japantown, right along Pasong Tamo avenue.
The familiar sight of a red torii marks the narrow alley that leads into Little Tokyo. There's always a gaggle of giggly girls at the entrance waiting for their Japanese dates.
There are about 6 or 7 small izakayas inside -- clustered around a mini garden. My favourites are Nodasho (shown above) which has quite an extensive menu and Hana with their specialties of yakisoba and takoyaki.
I enjoy coming to Little Tokyo on my own and having an ice cold beer ... usually two. Paired with some edamame or shimesaba sashimi, it's a relaxing way to end a long day.
